MSN SEO Tips To help Websites Navigate Bing Search Results

This is part two of the MSN SEO tips you need to get traffic from Bing search engines. One of the first things you need to do is sign up for Bing webmaster tools. Just like Yahoo and Google they have a webmaster center that lets you input your site map and trouble shoot any url problems you might have. You can go here to www.bing.com/webmaster to sign up.

Next MSN SEO Tips is to decide on what exact keyword phrase you want to rank well for. A single or plural word or phrase can make a big difference on Bing search. For example, a site can rank well for "website designs" but do poorly for "website design" when you type them both to Bing search. Some search engines will give you credit for both but Bing, in my opinion, does not. Usually one will get more searches than the others so either focus on one or try to optimize for both. But do not focus a page on too many keywords. Create a separate page for each set of keywords.

Your meta tags title needs to have your keywords both together and closes to the left as possible. Your meta tags description should also follow the same concept. Make complete sentences to help make it readable for visitors.

Now include your keyword phrase in your url. Do not use it more than once. If your domain name already contains your keyword then your folder url should not. If not, then make your url for that page look something like this "www.example.com/website-design/".

Your h1 title should include your phrase. The MSN SEO tips for the body of your content is a little more tricky. Start with using the keyword in the first sentence of your page. No bolding or Italicizing. Then use it again once bolded and then again italicized. Make sure to have it in content and not just floating around in empty space. After that use it in plain text the rest of the way. All together about 5% or so of your body's content should contain your keywords. Include it at the end of the page as well.

More MSN SEO tips include backlinks. Your backlinks should contant your keyword linking back to the exact page it is relevant to. A better MSN SEO tips is to find sites to link from by using the Bing search engine. That way you will know the link will be counted by Bing. Build then up steadily and consistently. If the page is not your home page then link back to that page form you home page. If you can, get a link back from a high pr ranking site that is related to your site. This is not always necessary it just depend on how competitive the phrase you selected is.

Sometimes you can over optimize your website. Other webmaster will through in MSN SEO tips like if you have images in your website then name the image your keyword as well as place it in the "alt" for the image. Put cloud tags at the bottom of your page. Link your keyword from your site to a high ranking site once. Some will even convince people to use blackhat tricks like stuffing keywords in small print and repeating the phrase over and over again in the meta tags. They only work for a short while and then you get penalized. Just follow the MSN SEO tips given here and on the first page and you should start seeing traffic increase soon enough.
